9.11.2009 >>> Eight Years Later!

“Those of our people who have died will live again! Their bodies will come back to life. All those sleeping in their graves will wake up and sing for joy. As the sparkling dew refreshes the earth, so the Lord will revive those who have long been dead” (Isaiah 26:19)

This morning while watching CNN there was breaking news, U.S. Coast Guards followed and fired upon suspicious boats on the Potomac River in Washington D.C. Could there have been another possible terrorist attack this morning? As I remembered the 8th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks upon our Nation, the memories of 9.11.2001 flooded my mind as a river overflows into a city. That morning I was shaving and listening to CNN when all of a sudden I heard that a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers in NYC. I screamed to María, my wife, “Come see this, there is something going on in NYC!” Today I want to share four lessons to remember.

#1 Virginity Has Ended
The loss of virginity both for male and female is a once in a lifetime experience; once you loose it, it’s gone. As a Nation, we lost our virginity on that Day. We were raped, left confused and, in deep pain by the terrorist attacks we experienced.

#2 Victims Then And Now
On that Day 2,993 people, including the terrorists, died in all of the attacks including nationals of over 90 countries. All those victims have families: mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. These are the living victims; those that live with the loss of their loved ones. I send my condolences to and prayers for them.

#3 Vigilance Evermore
As a great Nation that we are, we have learned from our weaknesses. As muscles grow after you have damaged the tissues, our Nation has grown stronger against terrorist attacks. Praise God we have had no attacks of that catastrophic nature since that Day!

#4 Victory From Defeat
On the 8th Anniversary we can agree that: “victory is won not in miles but in inches”. Terrorists that sought to destroy our freedom, confidence, will, compassion, persistence and unity failed! We have grown as a Nation. May God continue to bless the United States of America!
