“Times Flies”, 4 Tips on time management.
“I will not go yet to this feast, because the right time for me has not yet come" (John 7:8)*
Jesus was invited to a celebration but he said it was not the right time for him to go. Each one of us makes daily choices on the use of our time, “is this on my schedule or should it be on my schedule?” For many of us, time does seem to fly. All of us have a variety of things to do and we need to make time for each of them, for example: family, work, household chores, after school or after work activities, social events and much more. Here are a few ideas that may help you invest your time wisely.
1) It is 24X7 for everyone.
Please stop saying, “If I could only have 25 hours or 30 hours a day”. As humans we have different economic levels, abilities, talents, mental capacity, etc. But all of us have 24 hours a day. Work with God’s 24 hour schedule, He knows what is best for us.
2) Holy Time!
The proper use of our time is a blessed thing – a proper use of a gift from above. “These are evil times, so make every minute count” (Ephesians 5:16) CEV. When we receive a precious gift the proper response is to take care of it. Since God has given us the gift of time, let’s invest it properly and make every minute count.
3) Is this a level 1, 2, 3 or 4 decision?
When faced with a time decision, determine if you need to do it ‘right now’ or ‘later’. See the levels 1-4 as a guide to ‘do it now’ or ‘do it later’:
Level 1 is Urgent and Important = do it right now!
Level 2 is Important but not Urgent = do it, but not right now.
Level 3 is Urgent but not Important = as soon as you have some time.
Level 4 is not Urgent and not Important = whenever.
4) Everything has its own time.
“Everything on earth has its own time and its own season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)* Wise words from a time management genius, King Solomon. Have you noticed people that talk about work at the gym and about the gym at work? Would it not be better to talk about work at work and about the gym at the gym? This is what King Solomon expressed; there is a right time for everything in life. As we make daily decisions with our time, may God give us wisdom to use our time wisely. May we enjoy the benefits of having made the right investment of our time.
